Our one-hour Pilates mat classes will help you develop improved posture and core control. Mat class is a safe, effective way to become more toned and flexible. Based on the fundamental exercises developed by Joseph Pilates, the exercises coordinate diaphragmatic breathing with properly sequenced contractions of the pelvic floor, deep abdominals and deep stabilizing back muscles for strengthening the core. These exercises emphasize precise alignment and coordination of movement.

A variety of small tools including foam rollers, balls, bands, and rings are used to enhance the effectiveness of the exercises. Yoga poses and breathing techniques further enhance the achievement of strength, flexibility and balance.

Mat classes are drop-in and open to all levels – instructors offer modifications for those who are beginning and variations for more advance students. Mat classes are a great option for maintaining a consistent movement practice and learning exercises that can be done at home or while traveling.
