Instructors
Susan Dixon, owner of Momentum Fitness Studio, teaches Pilates, Yoga, and Zumba for conditioning the whole body. Trained and certified in Pilates by Polestar® Education, and the Physicalmind Institute®. Trained in Hatha yoga, Susan has studied several styles of yoga including Iyengar and is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. As a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Susan holds certifications by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). In 2008, Susan completed certification in Zumba Fitness. Susan teaches individuals, semi-private duets, and small group classes.
With degrees in nutrition, biology, education, and fitness, Susan combines her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to assist her clients to achieve lifelong fitness and health goals. She facilitates and motivates her clients to make fitness lifestyle changes by creating individualized programs for each person’s specific health and fitness goals. Lifelong fitness of body, mind and spirit requires personal commitment. Susan creates fitness programs that are challenging, fun and motivating.
Bobbie Deyerle is a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) certified instructor and has been actively practicing Pilates since 1997. She is educated and certified in Pilates mat work and the Pilates apparatus through Physical Mind Institute and Integrated Teacher Training. Bobbie has been instructing group classes and individuals for the past 9 years. In 2008 she received her Zumba Instructor Certification. With a love and zest for physical fitness, she hikes, bikes, skis and loves to dance.
Bobbie helps her clients to become aware of their body kinetics by taking their Pilates into their every day lives. She enjoys working with people who need special attention with physical problems achieve a better quality of life. Her definition of fitness comes from Joseph Pilates. “The attainment and maintenances of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind, fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many varied and daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure.”
Star Fisher has loved to dance since she was a girl. Star trained and competed in Latin dance for 10 years prior to moving the to Monterey Peninsula. Drawn to Zumba out of her love of Latin Dance and fitness activities including Pilates and Yoga she received her Zumba certification in 2008. Star shares the rhythm and joy that Latin dance can bring in her Zumba classes.
John Hayden teaches our yoga classes. He is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor, a graduate of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco Advanced Studies/Teacher Training Program. John has studied with the Iyengar family in Pune, India. John serves as the current Board President of theIyengar Yoga Association of Northern California.
